Can We Tawk About It..... Skin Revolutions First All Natural Artisan Perfume.

I approached one of my favorite bands "Tawk" about creating a one of a kind perfume that would encompass the feel of their music, which in my opinion is dark, erotic and soulful to say the least.

Together we are working to create this exotic natural blend of some of the most sensual raw ingredients i could get my hands on... Fresh Satsuma Oranges with leaves from Japan, fresh ginger root, fresh organic long pepper from India, fresh island coffee beans from Jamaica, fresh peppercorn blend (green, black, pink & white); combined with high quality dark amber resin, organic earl grey tea, nagarmotha from
India, clove, dark chocolate, patchouli, and ambroxan.

Each facet of this perfume is an aphrodisiac. It contains Elemental notes corresponding to Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Unisex quality perfect for Men, Women and Children. Dark and Soulful, perfect for all seasons, night or day.
Spiritual and ethereal, erotic yet innocent. Completely balanced for a olfactory experience like no other.

Updates to come, this perfume is a work in progress...

Smoulder

A unisex perfume with a definite masculinity.

The air is scented with smoke, almost clean and aquatic yet not at all...like the smell of fireplaces in autumn, with the rich earth beneath your feet and the fresh air in your nose.

A spice compliments this sensation, but a spice unlike any other, theses spices are warmer and more exotic then your typical autumn spices... savory spicy peppers harvested from south of the border.

Creamy roasted nuts add depth and blend the smoke with the spice in a exquisite subtlety.

Fresh green basil brightens this dark heavy blend, while cognac warms and gives heart, leather adds a exotic depth. Making this one of the most sophisticated, alluring and unique scents ever created.

Gritty - Rugged - Memorable

Especially good to compliment smokers.

Notes of cumin, chipotle, red peppers, bell pepper, roasted chestnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, leather, basil, cognac, smoke, cade, cedar, nagar motha, elemi, dark blossoms, musk, earth.

Bayport Resident Launches Line of Natural Skincare Products

Written by: Katherine Klahn
With jobs hard to come by, young Bayport entrepreneur Michael Marano turned his interest in skincare into a business. Marano started Skin Revolution in 2009 and the line of natural skincare products and perfumes is gaining admiration through word of mouth and social media.

Marano has always loved skin care products, but it was out of practicality that the skin care line really came into being. Marano was searching for a job, but like many people in their early twenties, Marano was not finding work with a decent salary that also allowed him to play on his creativity. "People my age have to do it on their own, they won't get it from someone else," said Marano.

With his dedicated clients, this young Bayportian may have the answer to entrepreneurial success.

"His products are natural, work great, smell great," said Andrew Bollerman, a former Blue Point resident who has been using the line since its inception.

The line includes a bath supplement, body wash, body lotion, antioxidant balm, hand sanitizer, shampoo, conditioner and leave-in hair treatment. Marano also developed 40 different perfumes and a treatment eye shadow that contains cucumber extract and chamomile to calm the eye area. To create his concoctions, he uses components as recognizable as coconut oil and aloe and as exotic as Irish moss extract and clove.

According to Marano, Skin Revolution is more about quality products than price.

"I care more about healing and health, and ingredients that do something rather than products that have no purpose," said Marano. "Makeup should have a purpose if it goes on your skin."

Marano's approach has left his clients feeling confident in their skin care regime. Cami Smith of East Patchogue said she thinks this product has already improved her skin.

Prices for Marano's product line range from $15 for a four ounce shampoo to $25 for an eight ounce bottle. His perfumes cost $30 for a one ounce bottle.

Marano, who is a certified Esthetician, said his goal was to create "the most exceptional product at the best value," which he said he does by searching for quality products at a good price.

Estheticians are trained in the cosmetic treatment of the skin, and are certified to perform various cosmetic procedures, including facials, body treatments and waxing.

All estheticians must be licensed in the state that they are working in. They complete 260 to 600 hours of training (depending on the state) and pass both a written and a practical exam.

In addition to being natural Marano's products are customizable. Together, Marano and Bollerman created a scent for Bollerman. Marano and Bollerman mixed musk, seaweed, leather, potting soil and cedarwood and named it "four day weekend."

Marano has a facebook fan page for Skin Revolution. He can also be found on blogspot at www.skin-revolution.blogspot.com; on etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/skinrevolution; and on twitter at www.twitter.com/skin-revolution.

Ode De Betty White

Banana is one of the hardest fragrant notes to work with in my opinion, just because its slightly more difficult to give banana a sophisticated appeal in perfumery. Ive only seen banana used as a main note successfully once, and that was for the company "B Never to Busy to B Beautiful" which has since then gone under. This perfume was fond-fully referred to as "Lady Boy" it was marketed for the modern day gay man; it was funky, unique, playful, and fun. Personally it reminded me of childrens cough medicine and i barely ever wore it, although enjoyed its uniqueness on occasion and i applaud their efforts.

After creating my friends wedding day perfume (the previous entry) i was able to play around with the idea of banana. I was inspired by "Lady Boy" but i wanted to take that idea to the next level and make it more wearable. Plagued with positive images of speedo clad gays playing volleyball on the beach, in Fire Island... under the glistening warm sun; i knew i owed it to them and myself to give "the banana" justice. I blended banana, seaweed, coconut, musk, vanilla, black blossoms, violet leaf, violet blossom, oakmoss, pititgrain, birch and espresso. This made for a scent that was both dark black and neon yellow in attitude; its empoweringy unique, gorgeous, fun, flirty, playful, bright, sexy, fruity, fabulous, edgy, and dark all at the same time. Wear this confidently because you are beautiful and you are one of a kind, just like this perfume.

Named after one of the most popular gay icons of our lifetime... Betty White. I mean come on! If Betty White was to be any fruit, what would she be? obviously she would be a banana for so many reasons, all we are missing are her kiwis. Ode De Betty White Matches her sunny warm disposition, her golden hair, her dark sense of humor, her quick tongue, her classic demeanor, her funky attitude and her timeless appeal. Thank you for being a friend...

Unleash your inner homosexual and embrace a life of delicious, sweet, ripe off the vine debauchery!

The Wedding of Melissa and Ryan

I was recently struck with olfactory inspiration, when my two close friends were wed. Her wedding colors were yellow and black, my two favorite colors as well as the colors i choose for my company "Skin Revolution". The drinks were flowing, There was a vanilla banana wedding cake and yellow roses everywhere, with a espresso and sambuca station to round out the night . I had to create her the perfect perfume in honor of her wedding day. With a little help from her best women Marie, i created a playful blend of banana, vanilla , rose, carnation, honey, watermelon, anise, espresso, geranium, juniper, and musk. This blend starts off by hitting you with a fresh bright fruity burst of banana, which is playful and surprising just like Melissa; It then mellows to a aquatic yet spicy floral, finishing to a sexy dark musk. Now Melissa can relive her special day every time she mists herself in the morning, i wish them a happy future together.
